First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! (Yeah, that was us screaming at the top of our lungs). We could not be more joyous for you and your family at this memorable time of your life and we are honored to join in on the celebration. This page has a few pointers on how to best prepare for your long awaited, “World Here I Come” Senior Photo Shoot. We are super excited, turnt up, and ready to help you with poses for your shoot but don’t leave it all up to us. You can browse our site, check out the latest magazines with your favorite celebs, or browse the web for posing ideas. This is an experience you will never forget, we promise. Below are a few simple tips to get you ready for the big day.
We've found that being prepared will not only help keep you relaxed, you'll look your best and confident too.
It is imperative that you arrive on time and here’s why: if you are running late you’ll be stressed and the tension will show in your face and body language. Arrive at least 15 minutes early and ready to shoot dressed in outfit #1. Get everything ready and organized the night before your photo session so you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the day. All seniors are encouraged to bring 2-3 outfits. You’re only a High School Senior once so we want your images to represent you to the fullest.
Side note: Make sure that your clothes are ironed. Furthermore, place clothes on hangers to keep them wrinkle free. Finally, please bring at least one extra outfit, just in case we can, or need to, work it in. Most location sessions will not have a changing facility, therefore wear clothing in layers and plan for easy wardrobe changing.
All About You
That’s right, you're the star of your session and we’re your official paparazzi. Don’t forget makeup, combs or brushes, hair accessories, and any favorite items you'd like to be in your photos. What do we mean by favorite items? Well, it’s simple… if you love shoes, bring a bunch of them to showcase in your photos – if you play sports/dance/cheer/band, be sure to bring your gear, uniform, letter jacket, ball, instrument, prom dress or whatever else you like – you can even bring your pet, car, or friend. In the photography world, we call these items props so JUST BRING THEM… Remember it’s all about YOU!!! It’s our goal to capture not only your senior year but your personality.
Side note: Your glasses are somewhat of a prop too but keep in mind most glasses create spots of reflected white glare in photos, and some prescriptions just do it more than others. We can use shooting techniques and lighting to minimize glare but we'll have a wider range of options if the glare possibility can be avoided beforehand. Here are a few ways to eliminate any possibility of glasses glare: use empty frames, wear contacts if possible, and the last option would be to remove glasses all together.
Once your session is complete, we take the images and sprinkle a little creativity, a dash of Photoshop, and a huge scoop of love to make them even better. This process usually takes about a week for images to be uploaded to your private viewing gallery, but don’t let the anxiety get the best of you. In the meantime, make a list of everyone you plan on sharing this once in a life time moment with to ensure you not only share but we think it will work well in piling up the graduation gifts and $$$$.. For your convenience we have an assortment of print packages, collections, posters and other cool items like invitations, key chains, cell phone cases, and much more. Be sure to check out The Senior Store.
